This driving tour begins at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend, Tennessee, where you can explore exhibits showcasing the rich cultural and natural history of the region. From there, we will head east into the heart of the Smokies, following scenic roads that wind through lush forests, misty valleys, and along clear mountain streams. Along the way, you'll encounter breathtaking overlooks, historic sites, and diverse wildlife. Your journey concludes at The Place of a Thousand Drips, a beautiful roadside waterfall near Gatlinburg, where the gentle cascades of water trickle down moss-covered rocks, offering a peaceful and picturesque finale to your adventure. Today’s driving tour runs approximately 30 miles, and we’ll take between 2 to 3 hours, depending on how much you want to stop and explore. Finally, our journey concludes along the Vistula River, the lifeblood of the city, where Kraków’s history stretches from medieval trade routes to modern urban renewal. We will explore culinary delights along the way and visit the wondrous Wawel Castle. This tour offers a deep dive into the cultural and historical layers of Kraków, revealing a city shaped by faith, resilience, and artistic brilliance. Our journey today will take us about one and a half miles at a time of roughly three hours. The terrain is fairly flat, but still. Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged. My name is Dave, and I will be your co-pilot today as we embark on an awe-inspiring journey along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, where time stands still amidst nature's grandeur. As you navigate the winding roads that hug the edge of this colossal chasm, prepare to be enveloped in a symphony of colors, shapes, and shadows carved by millions of years of geological evolution. Each turn reveals a new vista, each viewpoint offering a glimpse into the depths of the earth's history. From the dizzying heights of towering cliffs to the serene beauty of the Colorado River below, this driving tour promises an unforgettable exploration of one of the world's most iconic natural wonders. UCPlaces will be right there with you providing commentary and direction to help you enjoy your experience to the max. We will begin today at one of the eastern entrances to the south rim at Desert View Watchtower. Here you can fill up at the Chevron station, and grab some sandwiches and other refreshments at the Desert View Market and Deli. We will pass some picnic areas, and each stop will have a place to sit and enjoy a snack if you wish. As you enter Bryce Canyon National Park, you embark on a journey through a geological wonderland unlike any other. Greeted by towering hoodoos, colorful cliffs, and expansive vistas, the park’s rugged beauty immediately captivates your senses and invites you to explore its hidden treasures and ancient landscapes. This 26 mile driving tour will take you along the park’s main road, Bryce Canyon Road, and stop at all of the major viewpoints and outlooks. As you drive on the winding road that traverses the park, you are surrounded by the diverse ecosystems that make Bryce Canyon so unique. From stunning red-rocks to vanilla Ponderosa Pines, and the occasional glimpse of wildlife, it all adds to the feeling of adventure.
