Während wir durch die Kopfsteinpflastergassen schlendern, kommen wir zum Place de l’Albertine, wo die beeindruckende Reiterstatue von König Albert I. steht und man vom Mont des Arts, dem "Kunstberg", mit seinen schönen Terrassengärten einen Panoramablick auf die Stadt hat. Unterwegs halten wir kurz an, um Statuen zu bewundern, die belgische Helden ehren, wie die mutige Spionin Gabrielle Petit aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg. Wir besuchen auch die St.-Jakobs-Kirche auf dem Coudenberg, ein neoklassizistisches Meisterwerk, das mal als königliche Kapelle diente.
