Aloha! Welcome to this UCPlaces Reverse Road to Hana Self-Guided GPS Audio Driving Tour. This tour is designed for travelers leaving Hāna and making their way west toward Pāʻia and Kahului. Since you may have already visited many of these places on your way to Hāna, our return journey will focus mostly on fresh stories, history, and interesting information about the places around us. I’ll also point out a few worthwhile stops you may have missed or that are easier to visit from this direction. Before we begin, check the time and make sure you have enough daylight for the drive. The road is narrow and winding, with many sharp curves and one-lane bridges, making it considerably more challenging after dark. The drive from Hāna to Kahului generally takes about two to two and a half hours without extended stops, but traffic and road conditions can make it longer. So, relax, enjoy a new perspective on this legendary road, and simply follow the navigation.
