Hello and welcome to this UCPlaces tour of Batumi Georgia. My name is Dave, and I’m pleased to be your co-pilot today, as we explore this beautiful city on the coast of the Black Sea. Batumi blends ancient heritage with modern innovation, offering a fascinating journey through time. From the scenic Batumi Boulevard to the dynamic Ali and Nino sculpture, this tour highlights the city's unique architecture, religious diversity, and rich connections to mythology. Each point of interest, located within a 5-10 minute walk, invites you to experience Batumi's charm, from its elegant squares to its ancient cathedrals, mosques, and museums. Our tour today is just over 2 miles, and should take roughly 2 hours. So put on your best pair of walking shoes, and let’s get moving. We begin today at the corner of Demetre Tavdadebuli, and Zubalashvili Street, at Batumi Cathedral of the Mother of God. This carefully curated walking tour will guide you through the city's most iconic landmarks, from the awe-inspiring Piazza del Duomo to the serene Piazza Santo Spirito. As you stroll through these storied streets, you'll encounter masterpieces of Renaissance art, architectural marvels, and the enduring legacy of the Medici family. As we enter Old Town, the heart of medieval Kraków, we will stroll down streets once walked by kings, scholars, and merchants, passing Gothic churches, Renaissance palaces, and the echoes of the city’s golden age. Finally, our journey concludes along the Vistula River, the lifeblood of the city, where Kraków’s history stretches from medieval trade routes to modern urban renewal. We will explore culinary delights along the way and visit the wondrous Wawel Castle. This tour offers a deep dive into the cultural and historical layers of Kraków, revealing a city shaped by faith, resilience, and artistic brilliance. Our journey today will take us about one and a half miles at a time of roughly three hours. The terrain is fairly flat, but still. Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged.
