Hello and welcome to this UCPlaces tour of northeast Israel. My name is Dave, and it will be my pleasure joining you as co-pilot, as we take a day trip through this beautiful part of the world. Our journey today will start in Safed, a hilltop town with cobblestone streets and mystical charm, renowned as one of Judaism’s Four Holy Cities and a center of Kabbalah. From there we will head east to Rosh Pina, take in the serene mountain views and historic architecture of this quaint village, one of the earliest Zionist settlements in Israel, known for its stone buildings and artisan shops. From Rosh Pina, we will drive south toward the Sea of Galilee, where the landscape opens up to lush valleys and shimmering waters. Your route will lead you to Tiberias, a city along the lake’s western shore steeped in both religious history and vibrant local life, offering a blend of ancient sites, lakeside views, and relaxation. Sit back and relax, unless you're the one behind the wheel, safety first, and allow me to have your ears, as your eyes will be on the view. We will begin on Jerusalem Street, next to the Tzfat Lubavitch Center in Safed. Make sure you are gassed up and have some snacks with you. There will be places to stop and use the restroom along the way. Follow your GPS, and we will begin shortly.

Vous êtes arrivé dans la ville enchanteresse de Budapest, où l'histoire et la modernité se mêlent le long des rives pittoresques du légendaire fleuve. En commençant cette visite à pied, vous découvrirez pourquoi Budapest est souvent appelée la « Reine du Danube ». La ville de Budapest est divisée en deux parties principales : Buda et Pest, séparées par le fleuve Danube. Puisque vous avez décidé de voyager à Athènes, je suis sûr que vous connaissez déjà un peu les endroits les plus célèbres, comme l'Acropole, située au sommet de la colline au milieu de la ville. Au lieu de cela, ma visite vous fera découvrir les rues d'Athènes, en contournant toujours cette célèbre colline, mais à travers d'autres parties de la ville, tout aussi importantes, afin que vous puissiez vraiment goûter à la vie ici à Athènes. Since you have made the decision to travel to Athens, I am sure you know a bit about the most famous locations such as the Acropolis, on the top of the hill in the middle of the city. Instead, my tour will take you through the streets of Athens, still circling around that famous hill, but throughout other parts of the city, that are just as important, so you can truly get a taste of life here in Athens. There is so much to see in this lovely place, so I hope you are ready to experience the culture and history of the Athenians, old and new!

This walking tour begins at the majestic Basilica of St. Florian, a church with deep historical ties to Kraków’s patron saint and Poland’s royal processions. From here, we move through Plac Jana Matejki, named for Poland’s most celebrated historical painter, where grand monuments and architectural splendor tell stories of national pride and resilience. As we enter Old Town, the heart of medieval Kraków, we will stroll down streets once walked by kings, scholars, and merchants, passing Gothic churches, Renaissance palaces, and the echoes of the city’s golden age. Finally, our journey concludes along the Vistula River, the lifeblood of the city, where Kraków’s history stretches from medieval trade routes to modern urban renewal. We will explore culinary delights along the way and visit the wondrous Wawel Castle. This tour offers a deep dive into the cultural and historical layers of Kraków, revealing a city shaped by faith, resilience, and artistic brilliance. Our journey today will take us about one and a half miles at a time of roughly three hours. The terrain is fairly flat, but still. Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged.
