Welcome to Toronto — Canada’s largest city, home to towering skyscrapers, hidden historic gems, world-famous sports teams, incredible food, and enough cultural diversity to make your head spin… in the best possible way. On this driving tour, we’ll explore the many sides of Toronto together. We’ll cruise past iconic landmarks like the CN Tower and Casa Loma, discover historic districts that helped build the city, pass beautiful university campuses, waterfront parks, grand civic buildings, and neighborhoods packed with stories from around the world. Toronto is a city of contrasts. Glass skyscrapers rise beside 19th-century churches. Old whiskey distilleries become trendy art districts. Luxury shopping streets sit just blocks from neighborhoods that once housed factories and rail yards. It’s constantly evolving — and that’s part of what makes the city so fascinating. Along the way, you’ll hear stories about hockey obsessions, underground tunnels, castles built by millionaires, rebellious hippie neighborhoods turned luxury districts, and how a giant communications tower accidentally became the symbol of an entire city. As always with UCPlaces, this tour is designed to be taken on your own schedule and at your own pace. Just follow the route in the app for the best experience, and please drive slowly and safely to allow enough time for the audio to play comfortably at each stop. Alright, Toronto is waiting. Let’s hit the road.

Welcome to this UCPlaces Where to Live Tour of Brampton, Ontario. My name is Shelly and I’ll be the one showing you around today. Brampton is a suburban city, located in the Greater Toronto area. Its population is over half a million, making it the 9th largest municipality in Canada. Brampton wasn’t always like this though. In the 1950s Brampton’s population was only about 10,000. Call that a jump! Did you know Brampton was once nicknamed “The Flower Town of Canada” due its booming flower growing industry? For a while, Dale’s Estate Nursery was the town's largest employer and was the largest flower business in North America. Offering more than 6,000 acres of parkland, Brampton provides access to a wide variety of outdoor activities. People from around the world have come together to live, work, play and pray in this City. Brampton residents represent more than 170 different cultures and speak more than 70 languages. To start this tour meet me right by Heart Lake Conservation Park.

Ahsan is a versatile, bilingual professional with over 15 years of management experience, ranging in size from small private projects to full-scale multi-million-dollar high-profile corporate construction projects. He has experience in fast-paced operations management, engineering problem solving, and technical training and consulting. After the tour, find your home in the Regional Municipality of Durham by calling Ahsan at (647) 886-1289 or email ahsan.ali@blackoaks.ca. Now a little about the Durham Region. The Durham Region is part of the Greater Toronto area, making it a great choice for commuters. Commuters can take advantage of the easy access to the 401 or if they’d rather skip the traffic, take the Go Train. The Go Train has multiple stops in the Durham region including Whitby and Oshawa. It takes only 45 minutes from Oshawa GO to UNION St. GO (downtown Toronto). The Oshawa station also has service to Montreal and Ottawa. The Durham Region is also one of the fastest-growing areas in Canada; its current population of 700,000 is expected to pass 1 million by 2041. Another reason the Durham Region attracts so many people is because of its proximity to Lake Ontario. Oshawa translates to “where we must leave our canoes”. Aside from all the recreation opportunities Lake Ontario offers, The Port of Oshawa handles over $23 million dollars’ worth of cargo each year. Housing multiple plants of GM Motors, Oshawa is known as the Automotive Capital of Canada That's enough about The Durham Region, to start this tour meet me by Pickering Town Centre.
