SkyDome: El estadio con techo retráctil
Bienvenidos al Rogers Centre, pero seamos sinceros, la mayoría de la gente todavía lo llama el SkyDome.

Cuando abrió en 1989, este lugar fue un gran acontecimiento. ¿Por qué? Por ese techo. Fue el primer estadio con techo completamente retráctil de su tipo, lo que significa que podía abrirse y cerrarse según el clima. En Toronto, eso no es solo un lujo… es supervivencia.

En un día soleado, el techo se desliza y se abre, y tienen vistas del horizonte y aire fresco. En un día frío o lluvioso, se cierra y mantiene todo cómodo adentro. Bastante ingenioso.

Este es el hogar de los Toronto Blue Jays, y ha albergado de todo, desde partidos de la Serie Mundial hasta conciertos y eventos importantes. Y si se fijan bien, incluso podrían ver las habitaciones de hotel que dan al campo; sí, literalmente pueden ver un partido desde su cama.

Museo del Ferrocarril: Vías y vistas
A su derecha tienen el Museo del Ferrocarril de Toronto, una parada pequeña pero súper chévere, especialmente si les gustan los trenes… o simplemente una buena historia.

Esta zona fue alguna vez parte de un enorme corredor ferroviario. Mucho antes de los condominios y los estadios, este era el corazón industrial de Toronto: vías, trenes y un movimiento constante entrando y saliendo de la ciudad.

El museo mantiene viva esa historia, con locomotoras y vagones restaurados —algunos con más de un siglo de antigüedad— mostrando cómo personas y mercancías se movían por Canadá antes de que las autopistas y los aeropuertos tomaran el control.

Y aquí les va un plus: tómense un momento para mirar a su alrededor. Desde este punto, tienen una vista fantástica del centro de Toronto: torres de cristal, arquitectura audaz y ese horizonte inconfundible que se alza a su alrededor. Es un contraste bien llamativo: vagones antiguos en primer plano, la ciudad moderna de fondo.

Taking a UCPlaces tour is fun and easy.
