SkyDome: The Stadium That Opens Up
Welcome to the Rogers Centre—but let’s be honest, most people still call it the SkyDome.

When it opened in 1989, this place was a big deal. Why? Because of that roof. It was the first fully retractable roof stadium of its kind—meaning it could open and close depending on the weather. In Toronto, that’s not just a luxury… it’s survival.

On a sunny day, the roof slides open and you get skyline views and fresh air. On a cold or rainy day, it closes up and keeps everything comfortable inside. Pretty clever.

This is home to the Toronto Blue Jays, and it’s hosted everything from World Series games to concerts and major events. And if you look closely, you might even spot the hotel rooms that overlook the field—yes, you can literally watch a game from your bed.

So whether you call it Rogers Centre or SkyDome, this place is a mix of sports, innovation, and a little bit of “only in Toronto.”

Toronto Railway Museum: Tracks & Skyline Views
On your right is the Toronto Railway Museum—a small but really cool stop, especially if you like trains… or just a good story.

This area was once part of a massive railway corridor. Long before the condos and stadiums, this was the industrial heart of Toronto—tracks, trains, and constant movement in and out of the city.

The museum keeps that history alive, with restored locomotives and rail cars—some over a century old—showing how people and goods moved across Canada before highways and airports took over.

And here’s a nice bonus: take a moment to look around. From this spot, you get a fantastic view of downtown Toronto—glass towers, bold architecture, and that unmistakable skyline rising all around you. It’s a pretty striking contrast—old railcars in the foreground, modern city in the background.

Past meets present… in one glance.

Alright, let’s keep moving.
