Two Lovers Point
Welcome to Two Lovers Point, or as it’s known in Chamorro, Puntan Dos Amantes.
You’re standing on one of Guam’s most famous landmarks — a towering limestone cliff that rises more than 370 feet above the Philippine Sea, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Tumon Bay and the coral reefs below.

The story behind the name is a tragic one — a Chamorro legend that’s been told for centuries. Long ago, the daughter of a proud Spanish nobleman fell in love with a young Chamorro warrior. Her father, wanting her to marry a wealthy man from Spain, forbade the relationship. But the two lovers met here at the cliff’s edge, tied their hair together, and leapt into the sea below so they could be together forever.

It’s a tale of love, defiance, and unity — one that’s deeply woven into Guam’s cultural fabric.

Today, the site is peaceful and romantic, with a walkway leading to the twin observation decks overlooking the ocean. You’ll also find “love locks” attached to the fences — a tradition where couples leave padlocks to symbolize their everlasting bond.

If you’re lucky, you might spot paragliders floating along the cliffs or watch the sun sink into the horizon — it’s one of the island’s best sunset spots.

When you’re ready, hop back in the car and continue south along Marine Corps Drive toward the heart of Tumon. Our next stop will take us into the island’s lively resort district.

Tumon Bay
Welcome to the beating heart of Guam’s tourism scene — Tumon Bay.

This is where the island truly comes alive — a long crescent of white sand, turquoise water, and swaying palms framed by modern resorts, restaurants, and shopping plazas. It’s often called the “Waikiki of Guam,” and for good reason. Nearly every hotel chain you can think of has a spot here, from the Hilton and Westin to Dusit Thani and Hyatt Regency.

But Tumon Bay isn’t just for luxury travelers. The beaches are public, the water is calm and crystal-clear, and the coral reefs lie just a few feet from shore — perfect for snorkeling, paddleboarding, or a relaxed swim.

If you wander through the streets behind the hotels, you’ll find a fun mix of local Chamorro eateries, beach bars, and open-air shopping. There’s even a strip of nightclubs and karaoke lounges that keep the area buzzing after sunset.

What’s special about Tumon is that it’s one of those rare places where you can watch a spectacular sunset, grab a tropical drink, and still feel the warm hospitality of the island’s people.

From here, we’ll continue south along Marine Corps Drive toward Guam’s capital, Hagåtña — the island’s cultural and historical center, filled with Spanish-era landmarks and local markets.
