The Grassy Knoll
Welcome to Dallas - a city rich with culture, history… and a moment in time that changed the world forever.

You're standing at the Grassy Knoll, one of the most infamous sites in American history. On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated here in Dealey Plaza, as his motorcade passed through downtown Dallas.
While the official account named Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone gunman, many believe a second shooter may have fired from right here - the Grassy Knoll - sparking decades of mystery, debate, and conspiracy theories.

This single tragic event cast a long shadow over Dallas, linking its name forever to that dark day. Yet over the years, the city has transformed itself - embracing its history, reckoning with the past, and growing into a vibrant cultural hub.

As we begin our journey, take a moment to reflect on this spot - where history, legend, and memory collide.

Now, let’s explore Dallas together. Start by walking up Elm street, towards the first building on your left, the Dallas County Public Works Building. I'll meet you there.

Sixth Floor Museum
O.K. Great!
You found me.
In this building resides the Sixth Floor Museum, located in the former Texas School Book Depository.

This museum chronicles the life, death, and legacy of President John F. Kennedy, with a particular focus on the events surrounding his assassination in Dealey Plaza, not far from where you are standing right now.

Exploring the museum is not within our scope today, but you are welcome to purchase tickets on the museum's website later and explore the various exhibits, featuring photographs, documents, and artifacts that shed light on this tragic pivotal moment in American history. If you are seeking to understand the events of November 22, 1963, the museum offers a thought-provoking and informative experience.

Interesting fact: The corner window from which Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly fired the shots is preserved and marked within the museum.

Now, let's move on.
There's a small but very special cabin that I want to show you.

With our backs to the museum building, we'll carefully cross the sidewalk to the other side of Elm street. Then, tern left and cross N Houston Street, and keep straight on Elm street.
