La Mansión del Gobernador
A tu derecha está la Mansión del Gobernador de California, el lugar perfecto para arrancar nuestro recorrido en coche por Sacramento. Esta imponente casa victoriana se levanta aquí desde 1877 y, durante casi un siglo, trece gobernadores y sus familias vivieron entre sus paredes.

No todos quedaron encantados, eso sí. Cuando Ronald Reagan se mudó en 1967, su familia permaneció solo unos meses antes de declarar la casa “insegura” y demasiado anticuada, convirtiéndolo en el último gobernador en residir aquí a tiempo completo. La historia de Jerry Brown es aún más pintoresca: vivió aquí de niño cuando su padre era gobernador, más tarde la rechazó en los años setenta a favor de un modesto apartamento y, décadas después, la devolvió al uso oficial durante su propio regreso al cargo.

La mansión incluso se ha ganado fama de estar embrujada, con relatos de ruidos inexplicables y figuras fantasmales que se deslizan por sus pasillos. Creas o no en fantasmas, sin duda eso añade un toque especial a la atmósfera de esta grandiosa casa de estilo italianizante, con su carpintería ornamentada y sus altas ventanas.

Hoy la Mansión del Gobernador se conserva como Parque Histórico Estatal de California y como símbolo de la historia política del estado, lo que la convierte en el lugar ideal para iniciar nuestro viaje por Sacramento.

Capitolio Estatal de California y Museo
A su izquierda tienen el Capitolio Estatal de California, el corazón del gobierno de California y uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de Sacramento. Terminado en 1874, se inspiró en el Capitolio de los Estados Unidos en Washington, D.C., con su brillante cúpula blanca elevándose a más de 200 pies sobre la ciudad.

El edificio cumple una doble función. Es la sede activa del gobierno estatal, albergando las cámaras de la Asamblea y el Senado del Estado de California, junto con las oficinas del gobernador. Pero también es un museo, oficialmente designado como el Museo del Capitolio Estatal de California desde 1982. Dentro, encontrarán oficinas restauradas del siglo XIX del tesorero, el secretario de estado y el gobernador, además de exposiciones sobre la historia política de California, símbolos estatales y muestras de arte temporales.

El Parque del Capitolio que lo rodea abarca 40 acres, lleno de monumentos, memoriales y árboles traídos de todo el mundo. Se honra a veteranos, agentes de policía y bomberos con memoriales, mientras que el rosedal ofrece un estallido de color cada primavera.

Al final de nuestro recorrido, tendremos la oportunidad perfecta para una foto de este edificio, enmarcado en toda su grandeza, una excelente manera de culminar su visita a Sacramento.

Though you may run into unexpected obstacles (the world is constantly changing), our app has multiple features and mechanisms in place to help you overcome them, including: AI assistance, force play an audio if you can't reach the stop, skip or return to stops, automatic rerouting and more.
