Bransons historische Innenstadt
Wir starten unsere Tour direkt auf der Main Street und fahren mitten durch das Herz der historischen Altstadt von Branson. Hier hat alles angefangen – lange vor den Theatern, riesigen Attraktionen und bunten Lichtern, die die Stadt so berühmt gemacht haben.

Ende der 1800er Jahre war das hier noch eine kleine Ozark-Stadt, die lokalen Farmern, Händlern und Reisenden im Süden Missouris als Anlaufstelle diente. Die Eisenbahn half Branson dann, zu einem belebten Handelszentrum heranzuwachsen. Viele der Backsteinfassaden, die ihr heute seht, stammen noch aus den ersten Jahrzehnten des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts.

Anders als das Vergnügungsviertel, das ihr später noch besucht, hat sich Bransons Altstadt ihren charmanten Kleinstadtcharakter bewahrt. Werft mal einen Blick auf die inhabergeführten Läden, Cafés und historischen Gebäude auf beiden Straßenseiten. Sie erinnern daran, dass Branson, bevor es als „Welthauptstadt der Live-Unterhaltung“ bekannt wurde, einfach eine herzliche Ozark-Gemeinde war.

In nur wenigen Augenblicken kommen wir an einem der berühmtesten Läden der Altstadt vorbei – ein Ort, der schon für sich genommen ein echtes Highlight ist.

Dick's 5 & 10: echte Branson-Tradition!
Schaut nach der Ampel mal nach links. Da seht ihr eines der absoluten Wahrzeichen von Branson: "Dick's 5 & 10".

Das ist kein normaler Souvenirladen. Seit der Eröffnung 1961 ist "Dick's" eine echte Institution hier. Auf über 4.500 Quadratmetern findet ihr alles: von Retro-Süßigkeiten und Spielzeugklassikern bis hin zu Küchenhelfern, Deko, Sammlerstücken und nostalgischen Schätzen.

Der Name "5 & 10" erinnert an die alten "Dime Stores", wo Alltagsdinge früher nur fünf oder zehn Cent kosteten. Diese Preise sind zwar Geschichte, aber der Geist dieser klassischen Läden lebt hier absolut weiter.

Wenn ihr nach der Tour Zeit habt, schaut unbedingt mal rein. Selbst ohne Einkauf fühlt sich das Schlendern durch die Gänge an wie eine kleine Zeitreise ins gute alte Amerika.

The app is your tour-guide, it needs to know where you are located on the map to be able to trigger the points of interest. It also needs access to audio and media files to provide you with this experience.

We have been working hard to deliver a great experience. Though you may run into unexpected obstacles (the world is constantly changing), our app has multiple features and mechanisms in place to help you overcome them, including: AI assistance, force play an audio if you can't reach the stop, skip or return to stops, automatic rerouting and more.
