National Constitution Center: Wiege der amerikanischen Nation
Ihr fahrt gerade die 6th Street entlang. Direkt links von euch liegt die Independence Mall – das historische Viertel, wo 1787 in der nahen Independence Hall über die Verfassung debattiert und diese unterschrieben wurde.

Dieses Gebäude hier ist viel neuer – eröffnet erst 2003. Aber es steht ganz bewusst genau hier, direkt neben dem Ort, an dem das Grundgerüst des Landes entstand. Die Verfassung selbst wurde von Persönlichkeiten wie James Madison, George Washington und Philadelphias eigenem Benjamin Franklin geprägt.

Seht es einfach als modernes Gegenstück zu den historischen Orten. In der Independence Hall ist damals alles passiert, aber hier wird die Geschichte erklärt, diskutiert und ins Heute geholt.

Das Symbol der Freiheit
Gleich links von euch findet ihr die Liberty Bell.

Von der Straße aus sieht man sie zwar nicht – sie steht in einem modernen Glaspavillon –, aber genau hier ist der Ort.

Die Glocke wurde ursprünglich 1752 für die heutige Independence Hall gegossen und wurde mit der Zeit zum Symbol für Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit.

Ihr berühmter Riss hat diese Identität nur noch verstärkt, besonders als Abolitionisten sie im 19. Jahrhundert als Symbol im Kampf gegen die Sklaverei nutzten.

Auch wenn sie hier also etwas versteckt ist, kommt ihr gerade an einer der wichtigsten Ikonen der amerikanischen Geschichte vorbei.

If you start the tour before reaching the first POI, the app will navigate you to the starting point and then begin the tour.

The app is your tour-guide, it needs to know where you are located on the map to be able to trigger the points of interest. It also needs access to audio and media files to provide you with this experience.

We have been working hard to deliver a great experience. Though you may run into unexpected obstacles (the world is constantly changing), our app has multiple features and mechanisms in place to help you overcome them, including: AI assistance, force play an audio if you can't reach the stop, skip or return to stops, automatic rerouting and more.
