As we head into the valley, we are driving through the Big Oak Flat Entrance. This is one of the main gateways into Yosemite National Park, located on the western side of the park along Highway 120. It’s a popular entry point for visitors coming from the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California, offering a scenic and convenient route into the park.
As you pass through this entrance, you’re immediately welcomed by beautiful forested landscapes, granite cliffs, and glimpses of the Sierra Nevada mountains. This entrance gives you quick access to Yosemite Valley, one of the park’s most iconic areas, with a roughly 45-minute drive from the gate to the valley floor.
