Where to Live: Davenport, Florida

We begin our tour here at Posner Park Mall, just North of Davenport’s city center.

Offering a plethora of shopping, eating, and entertainment options that includes a brand new Cinepolis IMAX Movie Theatre, locals from all over central Florida come to Posner Park to scratch that casual spending itch. Located right at the junction of Highway 27 and I-4, Posner Park is a perfect launching ground for a weekend of travel to Orlando or Tampa Bay!

For now though. We’ll head South down Highway 27, and get a better feel for Davenport itself.

Tucked just Southeast of Orlando, Davenport is an exceedingly opportune location that families and investors are starting to take notice of! With easy access to both I-4 as well as Highway 24, Davenport is just a short drive from some of Central Florida’s resorts! Not only is the world Famous Disney World Resort just minutes to the North, but LegoLand as well as the ChampionsGate resort and golf courses are extremely close by as well!

Though the area surrounding Davenport is filled with attractions known all over the world, the town of Davenport itself contains a small-town charm you simply won’t be able to get from the resorts!

Coming up on your left is A lesser known, but characteristically enjoyable resort that exists here in Davenport: Deer Creek RV Golf & Country Club! Consisting of an extremely solid executive golf course that weaves between a number of separate RV park neighborhoods occupied by full-time or part time residents, Deer Creek is a great place to bring the family or just yourself for a self-contained getaway! Featuring plots for RV’s if you have your own, and RVs for rent if you don’t, anyone can come enjoy the community of Deer Creek! Not sure what to expect? Not to worry, this compact course of mainly par 3’s and 4’s is one of Davenport’s hidden gems, and is sure to be a pleasant surprise to any visitor!

Up on your left is the location for some brand new townhomes: Madison Place! If you’d like to check them out, head back down Florida Development Road, just off of Highway 27! From the regionally respected Starlight Homes builder, Madison place features brand new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and tons of great community amenities.

Coming up on our right we have AdventHealth Heart of Florida, Davenport and the rest of Polk County’s hospital! Bought by the nationwide health system AdventHealth in 2019, the 193-bed Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center had been serving Central Florida since the 1960’s.

Now, hopefully you won’t be having to stop here anytime soon, but it’s always good to know where to go if you stub your toe really badly!
