They even have all day packages for when you really need to escape and relax. Definitely a highlight of north Bethesda!

City Perch Kitchen and Bar serves up seasonal contemporary American cuisine with entrees from spit-roasted chickens to char-broiled steaks. You have to try it out.

Pike and Rose is a Bethesda favorite and you can see why! Our tour isn’t done yet though. You can come back here later and explore. For now, please turn right on Old Georgetown Road.

Kennedy Aquatic Center
You probably can’t see through the trees on your left but back in there is the Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center and Wall Local Park. The aquatic center has huge lap pools, diving boards and high dives, saunas, a hot tub, a shallow kid area with a waterfall and a really fun slide for all ages! This center is part of the Montgomery County Recreation Facilities.

Josiah Henson Museum and Park
The Josiah Henson Museum and Park ahead on your right, is part of the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom program. Reverend Josiah Henson was enslaved here at this former plantation. Harriet Beecher Stowe’s famous novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin was inspired by Reverend Henson’s autobiography.

Cabin John Regional Park
Ahead on your right is one of the parking lots for Cabin John Regional Park. Pull in and I’ll tell you a few things about this awesome place. This park has something for everyone. Trails, ball fields, a campground, a tennis center, a cafe, a miniature train, and even an ice skating rink.

The park also offers environmental programs and the always-fun Adventure Playground for the kids. For our four legged furry kids, the Cabin John Regional Dog Park won the Editor’s Pick for Best Dog Park in 2021 In Bethesda Magazine. Way to go!

And that wraps up our tour. I encourage you to park your car and spend some time wandering around Cabin John to really take in all of the fun.
