Boulder Theater
The Boulder Theater is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, famous for its glowing neon tower sign that rises above Pearl Street. The theater first opened in 1906 as the Curran Opera House, serving Boulder during the early days of film and vaudeville entertainment. In the 1930s, the building was remodeled in the stylish Art Deco design you see today, complete with bold lines, geometric patterns, and the iconic vertical marquee that has become a symbol of downtown Boulder.

For decades, the Boulder Theater served as a movie house, showing films to generations of local residents. In the late 20th century, the venue was restored and transformed into a live performance space.
