拱门国家公园不仅仅是一片令人惊叹的风景，拥有砂岩拱门、陡峭的岩塔和崎岖的峡谷——它还是一个拥有丰富地质、文化和人类历史的地方，时间跨度达数百万年。从古老的海床到美洲原住民部落，再到早期探险家，拱门国家公园的故事与其景观一样令人着迷。

在人类踏足这里之前，如今的拱门国家公园地区经历了剧烈的地质变化。大约3亿年前，这片土地曾被古海覆盖，留下了厚厚的盐层。数百万年来，砂岩沉积、压缩，并逐渐被风、水和冰侵蚀。随着较软的岩层被侵蚀，独特的岩脊和拱门逐渐形成，造就了我们今天看到的奇观。即便是现在，公园仍在不断变化——拱门坍塌、新的裂隙形成，景观仍在演变。
