La Manzana Vasca
¡Bienvenidos a Boise, Idaho! Arrancamos nuestro recorrido justo aquí, en uno de los distritos culturales más singulares de la ciudad: el Bloque Vasco.

Mientras manejas por Grove Street, fíjate en que la arquitectura aquí se siente algo diferente al resto del centro. Muchos edificios son pensiones vascas históricas de principios del siglo veinte. Son de ladrillo o estuco, con fachadas sencillas y ventanas en arco, diseñadas para ser prácticas y acogedoras para los inmigrantes vascos que vivieron y se reunieron aquí. Algunos tienen azulejos coloridos, murales o carteles en euskera, el idioma vasco, dándole a la cuadra un toque europeo único en pleno corazón de Boise.

Este barrio no es solo ladrillos, es comunidad. Por más de un siglo, las familias vascas han celebrado sus tradiciones aquí con festivales alegres, música y baile. Si regresas a pie, podrías escuchar el acordeón vasco, ver bailar una jota o probar delicias como el chorizo y la paella en alguno de sus cafés.

Al final de esta calle, a tu izquierda, verás el Museo y Centro Cultural Vasco. Es el único museo vasco en los Estados Unidos y conserva las historias de pastores, agricultores y familias que hicieron su vida en Idaho.

Por ahora, sigue derecho. Al llegar al final de Grove Street, giraremos a la derecha en Capitol Boulevard para seguir adentrándonos en la historia y los lugares emblemáticos de Boise.

Capitol Boulevard: Primer vistazo al Capitolio
Al girar hacia Capitol Boulevard, miren esta avenida ancha y arbolada que nos guía directo a la joya de la corona de Boise: el Capitolio de Idaho, que ya se asoma allá a lo lejos.

Este bulevar se diseñó a principios del siglo veinte como la gran avenida de la ciudad. Con sus carriles amplios, farolas clásicas y árboles alineados, se pensó para dar una bienvenida espectacular al corazón de Boise. Hoy conecta el centro con la Universidad Estatal y la zona del río, siendo una de las vías más transitadas.

Y miren justo al frente: ya se ve la brillante cúpula del Capitolio, perfectamente enmarcada al final de la avenida. Esa cúpula, coronada por un águila de bronce, se inspira en el Capitolio de Washington D.C., pero tiene detalles locales que la hacen cien por ciento estilo Idaho.

The app is your tour-guide, it needs to know where you are located on the map to be able to trigger the points of interest. It also needs access to audio and media files to provide you with this experience.

We have been working hard to deliver a great experience. Though you may run into unexpected obstacles (the world is constantly changing), our app has multiple features and mechanisms in place to help you overcome them, including: AI assistance, force play an audio if you can't reach the stop, skip or return to stops, automatic rerouting and more.
+ Can I take the tour in my language?
Though all of our tours are primarily in English, many tours are muyltilingual (including: Spanish, German, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Hebrew, French, Arabic and more...). The tour language options depend on the specific tour - You can easily check which languages are available in the tour screen!
