NASCAR Hall of Fame
On your right is the NASCAR Hall of Fame, one of Charlotte’s crown jewels and a shrine to America’s favorite high-octane pastime. Opened in 2010, this sleek, curving building is designed to echo the swooping lines of a race track — a fitting home for the legends of stock car racing.

Inside, you’ll find more than just shiny trophies and famous cars. There are interactive pit crew challenges where you can try your hand at a 12-second tire change, racing simulators that let you test your skills against the pros, and exhibits that trace the sport’s roots back to the moonshine runners of the Carolina hills.

The Hall of Fame itself honors the greatest drivers, crew chiefs, and innovators who shaped NASCAR into the national spectacle it is today. From Richard Petty’s signature cowboy hat to Dale Earnhardt’s legendary #3, you’ll see the icons that defined generations of racing.

Even if you’re not a gearhead, the energy here is contagious — it’s like stepping into the heartbeat of Charlotte’s racing heritage. After all, this city isn’t just home to the Hall; it’s also where many NASCAR teams are headquartered, making Charlotte the true pit stop capital of the sport.

Levine Avenue of the Arts – Charlotte’s Cultural Row
On your left is the Mint Museum Uptown, home to American, European, and contemporary art, plus standout collections of craft and design.

At the corner, you’ll notice a sparkling, mirrored bird — that’s “The Firebird” by artist Niki de Saint Phalle. Standing over 17 feet tall, it guards the entrance to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and has become one of Charlotte’s most iconic selfie spots.

Together, the Mint, the Bechtler, and their neighbors make Levine Avenue of the Arts the heart of Charlotte’s cultural scene.
