Campus Martius: El corazón de Detroit
Empezamos nuestra aventura en Detroit justo en el corazón de todo: el parque Campus Martius. Conocido como el "punto de encuentro" de Detroit, este lugar tan animado ha unido a la gente desde 2004, cuando se rediseñó como la pieza central de la revitalización del centro.

El nombre "Campus Martius" significa "Campo de Marte" en latín, y se remonta a 1788, cuando el trazado original de Detroit ubicó este punto exacto como el centro oficial de la ciudad. De hecho, las calles principales salían de aquí como los radios de una rueda.

Hoy en día, el parque es mucho más que un dato histórico. Está lleno de vida todo el año: el verano trae conciertos al aire libre, food trucks e incluso una playa urbana de arena, mientras que el invierno lo transforma en un paraíso festivo para patinar sobre hielo bajo luces brillantes.

Campus Martius: El corazón de Detroit
Miren a su derecha, ahí viene uno de los íconos más deslumbrantes de Detroit: el Guardian Building. Terminado en 1929, a este rascacielos de 40 pisos se le conoce como la «Catedral de las Finanzas», y en cuanto lo vean, van a entender por qué.

Diseñado por el arquitecto Wirt Rowland, el Guardian es un ejemplo perfecto del Art Deco, con sus formas geométricas audaces, coloridos azulejos y espacios interiores espectaculares. Su exterior brilla con un tono de ladrillo naranja, mientras que por dentro, encontrarán un vestíbulo impresionante, lleno de azulejos Pewabic y Rookwood, mosaicos y techos abovedados altísimos. Se siente más como entrar a una gran catedral que a un banco.

Cuando abrió sus puertas, el Guardian simbolizaba la economía en pleno auge de Detroit, impulsada por la industria automotriz. Hoy en día, sigue en pie como un orgulloso recordatorio de esa época dorada, siendo un punto de encuentro clave tanto para oficinas como para visitantes.

Taking a UCPlaces tour is fun and easy.

How does the tour work?
UCPlaces acts as your personal tour guide, providing self-guided audio tours fully navigated within our app using GPS-based navigation. You won't need to switch between external navigation apps.
Whenever you approach a point of interest (POI) on the tour, our app will automatically play the relevant audio story at the right time and place.
If you start the tour before reaching the first POI, the app will navigate you to the starting point and then begin the tour.

Just follow the route and listen to the audio guide. Use the resume feature to continue from where you recently stopped (or closed the app). Easily skip or go back to stops.

The app is your tour-guide, it needs to know where you are located on the map to be able to trigger the points of interest. It also needs access to audio and media files to provide you with this experience.
+ What happens if there are unexpected roadblocks or navigation issues?
We have been working hard to deliver a great experience. Though you may run into unexpected obstacles (the world is constantly changing), our app has multiple features and mechanisms in place to help you overcome them, including: AI assistance, force play an audio if you can't reach the stop, skip or return to stops, automatic rerouting and more.
+ Can I take the tour in my language?
Though all of our tours are primarily in English, many tours are muyltilingual (including: Spanish, German, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Hebrew, French, Arabic and more...).
