Target Field
On your right is Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. Opened in 2010, it’s one of Major League Baseball’s most modern stadiums, yet it’s tucked right into the heart of downtown Minneapolis.

The ballpark was designed with Minnesota in mind — from its limestone exterior sourced from local quarries, to open concourses that give fans great views of both the game and the city skyline. With a capacity of over 38,000, it’s hosted everything from All-Star Games to outdoor hockey, and even big-name concerts.

But Target Field isn’t just about baseball. It’s also known as one of the most sustainable stadiums in the country, with advanced recycling programs, a rainwater collection system, and even a rooftop garden.

First Avenue
Coming on your left is First Avenue, one of the most legendary music venues in the United States. Since 1970, this former Greyhound bus station has been the beating heart of Minneapolis’ live music scene.

Its black exterior is covered with hundreds of white stars, each honoring a performer who has played here — from The Replacements and Hüsker Dü to U2, Tina Turner, and Lizzo. But none are more closely tied to this place than Prince, who made First Avenue world-famous when scenes from Purple Rain were filmed here in 1984. His legacy is still alive inside, with tributes and frequent Prince-themed events.

The venue has two main performance spaces: the Mainroom, which holds about 1,500 people, and the smaller 7th St Entry, where countless bands have launched their careers.

First Avenue isn’t just a concert hall — it’s a Minneapolis icon. Snapping a selfie in front of those stars is practically a rite of passage for music fans visiting the city.
