Iconic Forsyth Park
Let's get started here at Forsyth Park, the largest park in Savannah's Historic District, which spans 30 acres and is a central gathering place for locals and tourists alike. Its iconic fountain, modeled after the Place de la Concorde fountain in Paris, is a must-see photo opportunity. Stroll along the shaded pathways, admire the Spanish moss-draped oak trees, and soak in the park's tranquil atmosphere. The park also hosts various events throughout the year, including concerts, festivals, and farmers' markets. Originally created in the 1840s, it was expanded to its current size in the 1850s. It is named after John Forsyth, the 33rd Governor of Georgia. Fun fact: The Forsyth Park fountain is dyed green every year for St. Patrick's Day. Now just to check if you have been listening - What is the name of the governor the park is named after? I'll give you 3 seconds to answer. Three, two, one. John Forsyth.

Kessler Mansion
Let's follow Bull Street and then turn left on East Gordon Street. That will be just past Gordon Lane. As we walk, to your left will be The Kessler Mansion. It is a stunning Victorian Romanesque Revival mansion overlooking Savannah’s iconic Forsyth Park. Built in 1888, it was originally a private home before being beautifully restored by hotelier Richard Kessler. Today, it operates as a luxurious boutique hotel featuring elegant rooms, a renowned spa, and a vibrant art gallery showcasing contemporary works. Guests and visitors alike admire its rooftop lounge and refined Southern dining, making it a highlight of the city’s hospitality scene.
