Hello there and welcome to this UCPlaces Where to Live Tour of Texarkana, Texas. My name is Shelly and I’ll be showing you around this amazing city. Texarkana is a two-county region with Texarkana, Texas on one side and Texarkana, Arkansas on the other. There are a few stories that explain where the name comes from. One says it was named after a Red River Steamboat. Another legend states that the name came from a cocktail called “Texarkana Bitters.” Yet another story is that a railroad surveyor just made up the name. Who knows, and it probably doesn’t matter. Let’s go check this place out for ourselves. Are you ready? Great! Oh, before I forget - We will be ending the tour at a fun park so you may want to pick up some lunch to eat there! Ok, Meet me right in front of the 1894 Gallery and City Market on 105 Olive Street. Your navigation will guide you in. See you soon!

Welcome to Fort Collins! This magical town is too big to be small. Too small to be big. Somehow, we fit it all in with beautiful views, loads of tech employers, and plenty of play. Fort Collins is a university town with rural roots and a hip vibe. We love our bikes. Our dogs. And our brew pubs. Summer is festival season, so I hope you like live music. Education is very important to this community, and it shows in our strong schools. This is my downtown walking tour, but I also have a driving tour of the larger Fort Collins Community so check that out. I'm Ann Brady. Your local expert. I was recently voted one of Northern Colorado's Top 5 real estate brokers and I've written several books about real estate, the Savvy Seller Collective. Joy is my North Star and I love empowering others to chase their own joy. I hope you enjoy this tour of my sweet city and if you decide to make it your sweet city, stop by Savvy Seller Collective.com or call me at 970-999-5882. I can't wait to hear about your vision for a Fort Collins life. For now, let's get this tour started. Shall we? My friend Shelley, is going to show you around downtown. But, anytime she talks about dancing, just know that I’m close by. Meet me at Coopersmiths. I love giant jenga almost as much as I love dancing. This is a walking tour, so if you are driving right now, please go find a place to park. I recommend the Old Town Garage at the corner of East Mountain Avenue and Remington Street. We begin and end very near there.

Popes Creek is the birthplace of our First President, George Washington. Here you will learn about his ancestors and see where he was born and spent the first three years of his life before his family moved to another plantation owned by his father called Little Hunting Creek (Today we know it as Mount Vernon) before finally relocating to Ferry Farm where he grew up. This is a very tranquil place where you can not only learn but also enjoy a picnic lunch on the banks of the Potomac River.
