Nissan North America Headquarters
And here we go! Do you recognize that big building that says “Nissan” on it? Of course you do! You probably just walked out of it. I shouldn’t have to tell you then, that it’s the Nissan North America Headquarters. Since you all are the “super important” people from the Nissan team, I think we should start out with a Nissan pop quiz. Here we go:

In what year was the very first Nissan vehicle produced? Now, this is kind of a trick question so let me give you a hint before you answer. The first Nissan was technically a Datsun. The name Nissan didn’t truly debut until 1933, but the vehicle was produced before then. So your answer needs to be a year sometime before 1933. I’ll repeat the question now.

In what year was the very first Nissan vehicle produced? If you guessed 1914, that is correct, and I think you may have cheated. However, you just won “special VIP front door curbside” parking for a year! Just kidding. I don’t have that kind of authority here. And even if you didn’t answer correctly, you are still a winner because we are about to embark on a fantastic adventure as we drive through Franklin, Tennessee and learn a few fun things about the area. All you need to do is relax and follow your navigation.

Franklin, Tennessee Information
So let’s talk about Franklin Tennessee, shall we? Founded in 1799 and named after the one and only Benjamin Franklin (yes, THAT Benjamin Franklin), this town is a charming mix of old-timey history and modern flair.

In 2009, Franklin snagged the prestigious Distinctive Destination title from The National Trust for Historic Preservation, proving it can charm the pants off visitors with its lively downtown, cultural diversity, stunning architecture, and ironclad dedication to historic preservation.

Not to be outdone, the American Planning Association also jumped on the Franklin fan train, crowning downtown Franklin as a Top Ten Great Neighborhood. They were absolutely smitten with its historic charm and architecture, plus the city’s serious commitment to making sure Franklin's unique vibe doesn’t get bulldozed by future growth and development.

This town is also famous for hosting one of the Civil War’s bloodiest battles, so if you’re into history or just enjoy a good ghost story, you’ll love visiting the Battle of Franklin site, Carnton, the Carter House, and other historic hotspots. I promise I’ll show you those places a little later in the tour.

So, whether you’re here for the history or just to enjoy the picturesque streets and friendly Southern hospitality, Franklin’s got you covered. Let’s keep going.
